In my area there has been a slight rise in car thefts, not that i worry about mine gettin stolen cuz where i live is kinda out there, but after reading post about people gettin their cars jacked now and then, i figure there is something we can do.

My old DX had a nifty kill switch, i think it was based off the clutch relay (like you know how you have to push the clutch in to start the car) but i'm not sure. Does anyone know a good way we can tap into some eletrical system and disable it with a switch?

Another thing would be the coat hanger though the door trick, i dunno if this works on civics or not. But i was gonna take off my door panel and see if i could do anything to my locks to keep them from being messed with at all.

If anyone knows any little tricks to keep our cars safe (at least if you know how to work out a good kill switch) or anything else i've mentioned share it, lets keep'm safe out there!!!

Hmmm... I'm running an alarm with fuel cutout - motion and forced entry detector, battery backup and cutout if the wires are chopped. It kills the car if the alarm itself is disconnected. On top of that I have a clublock on the steering wheel if I am at a shopping center or club.

I've heard that there is a company here that makes sheilds for the internal locking mechanism so you can't be slim-jimmed. Coathangers will set the alarm off. Actually - I'm surprised at how often the alarm lets me know that someone has tried to get in... I won't not use one in any car now.

i got part of an answer. MacGyver said the one in your DX was a very easy, you simply interupt your starter signal.

get another toggle switch and find a spot. under your seat again would work. find your ignition wire and add the toggle. then when you park at night you can flip the switch and your car is dead to everybody but you morning time you flip the switch back and you're starter will be ready to wake the neighborhood like a rooster

i know my answer was really basic. i'm assumming now that you know they tapped into the ignition wire, it all make sense.
